Google AdSense
Google AdSense is something I come across quite often at my work. I heard bits and pieces about the advertising system from Google and today I finally decided to clear it out for myself.
To put it simply, Google AdSense is a service providied by Google that helps users to make money by purely running a blog and placing ads on their sites. Having a blog for your own writing pleasure earning money from that sounds quite appealing. On the other hand, you have to work hard to earn hard. Having interesting blog contents is the major factor that will draw users to your site. Quite simply, the more users you’ll have, the more of them will click on the ads, the more assets you’ll earn.
So how the entire mechanism works?
Firstly, start an account on https://www.google.com/adsense/g-app-single-1
While filling the account, you’ll be offered to indicate some personal info, your website address. After this procedure is over, your website will be set on moderation with the results arriving in a couple of days. If the results are positive, you’ll be able to find what AdSense is all about.
The advertising system offers its users a couple of advertising methods:
- context ads. Advertisements that will appear on your blog will be thematically related to posts on your site. Users also have the opportunity to alter ads’ size, colors etc.
- ads placed in search engines.
- RSS-feeds advertisements
There is also a possibility to extend Google AdSense functions’ list by installing some related plug-ins.

So far I’ve heard various opinions on Google advertising system, with some people giving pros to it, some not precisely pleased.
In order to make proper money on blogs, some people hire other users to make regular posts on their blogs.
Anyway, for me making money on blog is more of an adventerous experiment for me that a serious source for receiving money. It’s like, if I do this and this, what’s going to happen? It’s pretty interesting and exciting having something basic and seeing it developing into a more complex and non-trivial thing. I’m quite intrigued, so I guess I’ll try playing around with plug-ins when I have more posts.
